A Legacy of Family, Community, and Tradition

Lakehurst has been in operation as a family business on the coast of Maine since the early 1920’s. After a brief period as “Camp Pemaquid”, a boys’ summer camp, the original cottages were converted into seasonal rentals for those seeking a lakeside retreat.

The Lodge dates back to the same period and has been a location for Saturday night dances, parties, receptions, and the like for over 90 years.

The property has been in the Pinkham family for over 4 generations. Today, Ann Pinkham, along with her sons and daughters-in-law Dan Jr. and Deanna, Jon and Geri, and Josh and Christina, own and operate Lakehurst Properties LLC.

Lakehurst Camps and Lodge are located in beautiful rural Damariscotta, Maine with easy access to US Route 1.

Maine Turnpike: Take Exit 52 (Falmouth) to I-95 North to Brunswick. Then follow US Route #1 North directions.

US Route #1 North: Take Exit 28 (Coastal Route 1/Brunswick).Stay on Route 1 through Bath, Wiscasset, and Newcastle. Take the Business Route 1 Exit.Travel north on Business US Route #1 through Damariscotta.Take a right onto Biscay Road (immediately after the Mc Donald’s). Drive 2 miles to the intersection of Biscay Road and Egypt Road. Tum left onto Egypt Road and proceed 1.5 miles.Turn right onto Lakehurst Lane following the road down the hill and through the woods to the camps.

US Route #1 South: Take the Business US Route #1 Exit toward Damariscotta. Turn left onto the Biscay Road, immediately before the McDonald,. Drive 2 miles to the intersection of Biscay Road and Egypt Road.Turn left onto Egypt Road and proceed 1.5 miles.Turn right onto Lakehurst Lane following the road down the hill and through the woods to the camps.

Saw our first moose in our 47th year. Best place on earth to relax. Moved permanently to Damariscotta as we wanted to cut down on driving from Connecticut to Lakehurst each year. In 2007 we celebrated our 50th vacation year at Lakehurst.

Here for our honeymoon; beautiful Fall colors. We hope to come here for many more vacations. What a perfect place.

We had such a wonderful experience we turned it into a yearly family tradition! Cabin was cozy and the scenery was magnificent! I would highly recommend it! Plus the lodge is beautiful for events. We had a couple of events there. It's so warm and inviting! Loved it!!!
