Dear Friends,

We are writing to share some good news!  The State of Maine has provided several options to allow lodging businesses to open to out-of-state visitors beginning on July 1st.

After reviewing all of the information, Lakehurst Properties LLC has made the decision for the safety of our employees and guests to require guests to have a valid negative COVID-19 test result prior to arriving on site.  We will not be allowing persons to quarantine on property without a valid test result.  If you are not able to get a test in your state or you have not received your test results before your check-in, you may elect to have your test performed when you arrive in Maine.  For this option, you must quarantine at a hotel (not here) until you receive your negative result.

To comply with state requirements and to ensure safety of all of our guests, we have made several changes to our check-in process.  Check-in will be from 3:00-6:00pm at the Lodge at the top of the hill.  We ask that you call (207) 563-5717 shortly before you arrive to ensure that someone is there and ready to meet you.  The cottages will be locked until the check-in process is completed.  Please do not arrive before check-in time as we do not want unregistered guests on the property down at the lake before check-in.

During check-in, we are requiring the following BEFORE keys will be given to guests.

Any member of your party that chooses to not participate in check-in will be asked to leave the property.  Any unregistered guests throughout your stay will be asked to leave the property.  We request that you refrain from inviting extra guests this year, be it day or overnight guests.  If you feel that you must extend invitations, please notify us as they are required to provide their own compliance form or complete one here if they are not from ME, NH or VT.

All cottages will be sanitized and locked in preparation for your arrival.  We have minimized items in the cottages for sanitizing purposes.  Items removed include but not limited to:  pillows, blankets, quilts, puzzles, games, additional decor, books, magazines, uncommon bakeware, excess dinnerware, flatware and glassware.  Please bring ALL of your bedding.  We will provide a sanitized, packaged mattress pad for each bed for you to open.  If you buy something to use at the cottage, please take it home with you including:  food, drinks, ice, sandwich bags, storage containers, dishes, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, etc.  If you are looking for something that you normally have and need, please let us know.  We will do our best to retrieve it in a timely manner for you.

In closing, we certainly understand that this has been a trying year and that the changes may be too much for some of you.  To make this as safe and as smooth of a process as possible, we will be reaching out to each of you soon to answer any questions and to confirm your reservation.  If you feel that you and your family will not be able to comply with these requirements, will not be able to receive your results prior to check-in, or you simply do not feel safe traveling this year, please let us know as soon as possible.  We will understand and will be happy to transfer your deposit to your 2021 reservation or even return your deposit if necessary.

Again, our goal is to have everyone feel safe and be safe so that you may enjoy Lakehurst for years to come.

Stay well,
